Sharjah Women's College

Many of my colleagues asked me about several things that they heard that it is available in SWC and not available for them in DWC. Therefore, I will answer their questions by showing them what is available in SWC

When I entered the college there were no laptops we had classrooms with computers, where you can save all your work and have access to it from you home computer. I prefer it this way because you don't have to carry you laptop everyday or to go in the middle of the exam to the IT because there is a problem in you computer. But for the students how joint the college in the last two years are using laptops and the students who entered before that don't have to use laptops. In the business building there are "Honor Role"posters with all the names of the students, who got a GPA higher than 3.5.

Mr,Tridib asked us before about what technology can be used in DWC, I think smart boards that are availiable in SWC is an example of a useful technology. This short video shows what are smart boards

In the buildings there are machines for coffee, juices, water and snacks. The second picture reminds me of something that annoys me in DWC, which is the water refrigerators without cups.

These pictures show what I really miss :( ... There is a shop with many different kinds of chocolate, ship, ice cream, biscuit and juice.

Also,  there are binders, pen and pencils, bags, phone accessories, laptop bags, make up, greeting cards, toys, mugs and many other things.

Finally in the main cafeteria there is different kinds of chocolate, Baskin Robbines ice cream and fizzy drinks like Pepsi and Vitamin C.

Metro Trip

From last semester Miss Indrani was trying to take us on trip to Dubai Metro and finally we went this semester. First, we had a delicious  breakfast made by Hana, then we attended a short presentation about Dubai Metro and finally we went to the metro station and rode the metro. It was nice to be with my classmates and one of our teachers without thinking of the projects and the exams. Although it is sad to think of this trip as the last trip for us as a class, the pictures that were taken for us will maintain the great memory of this trip.

We as a class have received two valuable and priceless gifts from Nadia. One gift is ZamZam water which is a holy water that is taken from the ZamZam Well in Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The other gift is Ajwa, which is a soft dry date that grows only in Al-Madinah Al-Monawara in Saudi Arabia. Nadia thank you very very very much for your wonderful gifts.

Special Fishing Day

This morning, my brother Mohammed and two of my family members went for fishing. They have rented a boat and asked for a professional fisherman to go with them. Usually, Mohammed brings small fishes, but as you can see in the picture, he is holding two big fishes :O The one on his right hand is called Barracuda and its length is about one meter. Although, the Barracuda is thinner than the other fish, it was very difficult to catch it because the Barracuda was very strong. Some Barracudas are considered as dangerous, grim and strong as sharks. The fisherman didn’t know the English name of the other fish, but he thinks it is called Spotted Leatherskin and in Arabic it is called “ضلعة”. Also, this fish considered grim and dangerous fish.

My idea about fishing is to stop the boat and set quietly without moving and to use insects as bait. However, Mohammed corrected my wrong ideas and told me new things about fishing like using plastic baits and how to know where is better for fishing.

Mohammed keeps saying that fishing is very interesting and enjoyable thing and he wants me to go with him, but unfortunately, the sea scares me, I don’t know how to swim and I don’t like or eat sea food. I’m really jealous right now L

Dubai World Cup

Congratulation is the first thing that I want to say to Dubai and the People of the UAE for wining Dubai World Cup.

31st March 2012 is a remarkable date that must be added to the list of Dubai great achievements as the horse “Moterrosso” of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum won the Dubai Golden World Cup. The prize that Dubai has won is a 10 million US Dollars.

“No place for the “impossible” word in the leaders' dictionaries” is a  great saying of Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. I believe that this victory is an evidence that shows to which extent this saying is true. It is an honor to be an Emirati and to follow those ideal leaders.

John Carter Movie

I have started my holiday :) with watching John Carter Movie in Cine-Star Cinema. Actually, I have watched it just because my sister recommended to me, but I really liked it after watching it and I totally recommend it to my blog viewers.

This is the movie's story as mentioned in IMBD Website: Transplanted to Mars, a Civil War vet discovers a lush planet inhabited by 12-foot tall barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter a princess who is in desperate need of a savior.

I don't know if I'm right or not, but I felt  that there are few things in this movie that are similar to the Islamic religion and culture.  The movie shows and mentions some things that are close to the Islamic  pilgrims and people of the cave story. Also, the people of Mars have tattoos on their bodies that looks like Hena. Some names are very close to Islamic names, with a difference of 2 or 3  letters.
